Three Growth Tips 🌱

1. Creativity first. Monetization Later. βœ…

A lot of people fall into the trap of premature monetization. When you’ve barely begun creating things, seeking tangible results like monetization is a bad move.

Remember: If you start creating with a mindset rooted in monetization, it’s going to hamper your creative juices and growth.

More than that, you'll get tagged as the guy who sells, and who pushes people away.

Be VALUE and CREATION first. Connect with your audience. Network with people. They'll buy from you down the line.

Focus on building habits that help you be creative.

Morgan Housel wrote blogs on behavior finance long before he published his book - The Psychology of Money.

He didn't start writing blogs because he wanted to convert them into a detailed book and sell it.

He followed his natural curiosity to write creatively about finance.

2. Use Latest Features

This is the key to growing on any social media exponentially.

The algorithm on any social media platform rewards users who use the app’s latest features. For instance:

Instagram ➑️ Reels

YouTube ➑️ Shorts

Twitter ➑️ Spaces

Learn how to use these new features so the algorithm is more incentivized to distribute your content.

With respect to Twitter, Spaces is a great tool to have conversations, discussions and be more than just an account.

3. Twitter Search Shortcuts

Knowing how to search on Twitter is one of the best learning and productivity hacks.

To grow, you need to know what's working.

And what better way to do it, than looking at tweets of successful creators.

In this informative chart, you'll find 4 search shortcuts to make your work easy.

Two Tweet Writing Tips ✍️

1. Create a banned words list

This is an editing tip for anyone who wants to get better at writing and speaking.

The process is simple -

  1. Find words that you’re using more than you should.
  2. Add them to the banned words checklist which you can reference when you write.

Edit them out of your final draft.

2. Put your style into writing

Authenticity resonates best with readers: your way of speaking, interests, and perspectives on the world are a breath of fresh air.

Stop styling your writing with insights you’ve absorbed from others. Write the way you talk.

Try incorporating multimedia, anecdotes, analogies, and humour to reinforce your points and entertain your readers.

For example,

Tim Urban uses cartoon drawings and analogies to explain complex topics.
